  • RE: I want my money back!

I’m a bit frustrated with the service I’ve received from the magazine. I’ve been in contact with customer service since I ordered my subscription at the end October. I was told that my issues were sent out in the middle of November and again at the beginning of January. I never received a single issue.

Now you’ve dropped the print subscription without telling customers. I again contacted customer service for a refund which I still have not received in my PayPal account. I’m not sure what more to do to get these issues resolved.

    Hello,

We can either transfer your subscription to Hakin9 Magazine (www.hakin9.org) or offer you a refund. Please contact subscription_support@software.com.pl and let them know which option you prefer.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Best regards,

I’m in the same situation, I’ve paid 50 Euros for a single issue!

I have tried writing to the editors but have yet to receive a response, please let us know what you intend to do about people that have paid for a subscription that they will now no longer receive.

  • I want my money back!

I’d ordered a yearly subscription of the magazine and I’ve received one issue. Now I find out that the magazine is going to be online instead. What happens with my money?

  • General Discussion Wheres to buy BSD magazine?
  • RE: Where to buy BSD magazine?

I haven’t been able to get it at Barnes & Noble here in Utah but Borders carries it (when they have it in stock). Last time I went they were out. You can also get single issues from http://www.freebsdmall.com.

I can find it about half of the Barnes and Noble stores I look at. Ditto for Borders. Can’t find it on either of their web sites.

  • General Discussion Suggestions, ...
  • RE: Suggestions, …

I just have two suggestions for the magazine and the site. First let me say that I absolutely love BSD Magazine and find it a great way to learn and keep up to date on what’s happening in the BSD community since it’s a little more difficult than say the Linux community which is much more out in the news. My only problem with the actual magazine is the lack of proofreading. I realize that English is not the primary language for many of the writers. I just feel that perhaps a native English speaker (or someone with native proficiency) could proofread the articles better to eliminate some of the grammatical mistakes. I see them all over the place and I feel that if we’re going to have a BSD publication it should be the absolute best and most professional one out there!

The second problem is the online ordering system. Parts of the subscription order form are in Polish. This can really keep new readers from ordering because they can’t understand parts. I had to use Google to translate the non-English portions. Fortunately I’ve actually read the magazine and know that I enjoy it. Someone who may be approaching your publication for the first time might be hesitant to order a subscription.
